Elinor Griffen Mink, 96, died peacefully at her home in Fair Haven, NJ, as was always her wish, on January 5, 2021.

Elinor was born in Elizabeth, NJ to Lillian (Peterson) and Edward H. Griffen on April 21, 1924. She graduated from Battin High School, Elizabeth and Monmouth University (Summa Cum Laude). After raising her children, she had a long career at both Rahway (NJ) Hospital as Director of Public Relations and Community Medical Center, Toms River where she was its first employee. After “retirement” she continued as a baker with her daughter’s business, Savoury Fare, in Rumson. Elinor was a long-time member of Christ Church United Methodist of Fair Haven.

She is survived by her son, Charles E. Mink (Eleanor) of Medford, NJ, her daughter, Patricia J. Mink, of Middletown, NJ and her loving grandson, William R. Mink of Medford, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Mink Jr., her son, Robert W. Mink, and her sisters, Dorothy Schaar and Winifred Willauer.

There will be no services. She will be interred with her husband at BG William C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Donations in her memory can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project (phone 855-448-3997) or the charity of your choice. Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
