Charlie E. Burden, 75 of Red Bank, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2017, with his loving family by his side.  Charlie was born in Newark to Elmer and Dorothy Burden.  He served his Country in the US Navy and was a member of the Floor Covering Union, Local 2212, in Union until his retirement in 2003.

Charlie enjoyed freshwater fishing and softball, he was an avid newspaper reader, a weather enthusiast and a member of “The Brothers Lunch Club”.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents and his in-laws Anthony & Kathryn Peduto.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mary Lou Burden; his son Jonathan Burden & his wife Jill of Red Bank; his daughters Melissa Houck & her husband Stephen of Red Bank and Amanda Weber & her husband John of Middletown; his brothers Roy Burden & his wife Kristina of Arizona, Kenneth Burden & his late wife Mary of Red Bank, William & his wife Anna of North Carolina and Vincent Burden of Asbury Park; his sister Dorothy Borden & her husband William of Pt Pleasant; his grandchildren Ashley, Anthony, Molly, Charlie & Sean; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Please join the family for a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, May 21st  from 12 to 2 p.m., with a prayer service at 1:30, at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
