Anne Bridget Psolka-Green, a loving and generous friend to many, especially those less fortunate than herself, died suddenly at home on Dec. 8. She was the daughter of James Green and Christine Psolka and the sister of Kevin Psolka-Green and his partner Emily Ho of San Diego.

Born in Long Branch, Annie grew up in Tinton Falls and Shrewsbury, N.J., and graduated from Shrewsbury Borough School and Red Bank Regional High School, where she majored in piano. As a teenager she taught piano privately to young students.

Annie received her B.A. in journalism from Rider University and was previously a case worker in the foster care system for Little Flower in Brooklyn, New York, where she was awarded a commendation by the Brooklyn borough president for her work with children.

Annie’s struggles with mental illness and addiction never diminished her love of music and reading.

At the time of her death at age 30 she worked for Shop-Rite in Shrewsbury, N.J., and was a client at Park Place in Asbury Park.

In addition to her immediate family she is survived by many loving and heart-broken aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and California.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Covenant House in Asbury Park to support its work with homeless young adults.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, Dec. 14th at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St. in Red Bank, N.J., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Her life will be celebrated in word, song and liturgy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15th at Christ Episcopal Church, 380 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury, N.J.
