Joseph George Zetkulic, 91, of Brant Beach and Colts Neck, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in his home with his family. He is survived by his wife, Marion Zetkulic, his four children, Joseph, Jr., Jack, Tom, and Anne Benoit and their spouses as well as his twelve grandchildren.
Mr. Zetkulic was born in 1925 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He married Marion Mink in 1955. Mr. Zetkulic had four siblings who predeceased him, including his brother, Michael, who died in World World II in the Philippines and his three sisters, Marguerite Procanik, Dorothy Pollak, and Florence Gardella.
He attended Perth Amboy High School before serving as a quartermaster on a PT Boat in the South Pacific in World War II seeing action in New Guinea and the Philippines. Mr. Zetkulic received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Columbia University in New York. Mr. Zetkulic then worked for over thirty years as a chemist with American Home Products in Cranford, New Jersey.
Mr. Zetkulic worked to organize the Little League in Lincroft, New Jersey and enjoyed participating in the League in which his three sons played. Mr. Zetkulic and his family traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America. Mr. and Mrs. Zetkulic also traveled throughout Europe and South America.
