Robert A. Van Brunt

Robert (Bob) Van Brunt, 82 of Shrewsbury, NJ passed away July 31st at Monmouth Medical Center. Born November 12, 1937 in Eatontown, NJ, he attended Red Bank High School then served in the United States Navy from 1955-1963.

Bob was a very proud American and loved his country. He was devoted to his family and loved life, he especially loved going on cruises. He was a big sports fan, loving the Mets, Giants and wrestling.

He is survived by his loving wife Vicki, whom he was married to for 60 years. He is also survived by his two children, his son Robert Van Brunt and wife Judy of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ and his daughter Nekay and husband John Quinn of Tinton Falls, NJ. Bob also leaves behind his 6 grandchildren, Jake, Rachel and Matthew Van Brunt and Caitlin, Shannon and Colleen Quinn. He is survived by his brother Irv Van Brunt and two sisters Dolores Chahalis and Edith Laspada. Bob was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation, Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 2-6 pm, with a prayer service at 5:30 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank NJ. In keeping with the current state mandates regarding COVID-19, face coverings must be worn by all visitors and will not be provided by the funeral home. Guests will be directed to briefly greet the family and exit the building as soon as possible thereafter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer’s New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Ave. Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
