Myrtle Acker, beloved grandmother, cousin, wife, mother and dear friend to so many, died at home with her granddaughter Sarah Goodhue, grandson Taylor Goodhue, and son Daniel Acker by her side on March 3, 2021. Predeceased by her husband Daniel Acker, her parents Fredrick Tumith and Anna Louise Tempe, and her 11 siblings. Survived by her sister Marilyn Krienitz, son Daniel Acker, daughter Debra Goodhue, grandson Daniel Acker Jr, granddaughter Sarah Goodhue, and grandson Taylor Goodhue.

Born in Somerville, Massachusetts on September 27, 1925. Myrt was one of 13 children. She moved to New Jersey, raising her family with her Husband Dan. She ended up in Oceanport where she watched her grandchildren grow up. She enjoyed traveling around the world with friends and was a member of the Rumson Senior Citizen Club and Red Hat Society among many other organizations. Myrt enjoyed playing cards with her friends, eating lobster rolls, and taking trips to see her relatives in Massachusetts. Myrt loved to have a good time and was usually the one keeping the spirit alive during dinner and family gatherings. Myrt knew how to live it up by bringing her sense of humor, joy for food, and love for family and friends to every occasion.

A graveside service will be held outside at Woodbine Cemetery & Mausoleum in Oceanport, NJ on June 5th at 10:30am. She will be lovingly laid to rest next to her husband Daniel Acker. Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank, NJ has been entrusted with the arrangements.
