Patricia Ann Ahlemeyer (nee Sullivan) passed away peacefully on April 17th at the age of 83. She was born April 24,1937 to Joseph and Cecelia Sullivan in Jersey City, N.J. where she grew up with her younger siblings Margaret (Peggy) and Danny. Patricia graduated from St Al’s Academy in 1954. She was taken to her Senior Prom on Dec 27, 1953 by Joseph Ahlemeyer who was in the Army at the time and drove hundreds of miles from Oklahoma where he was stationed so nobody else could escort her. She went on to marry Joseph on Oct. 6, 1956 at St. Mary’s Church in Jersey City. After graduating high school, she worked for the telephone company for over 30 years, starting in New York then in Red Bank after moving with Joseph to Middletown in 1962. On January 29, 1973, she gave birth to her and Joseph’s only child, J.P.

In retirement, Patricia stayed active in her Parish of St James in Red Bank, as a member of the Lazarus Ministry. She continued to stay active even after Joseph’s passing on March 28, 2011, after 54 years of marriage, spending time with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents, brother and husband. She is survived by her son J.P., daughter-in-law Lisa grandchildren Ezekiel and Gabriel, sister Peggy and many friends that she made over the years.

Patricia loved life, enjoyed family celebrations, enjoyed planning events, and always tried to help others. She was very proud of her Irish heritage, and passed away listening to Irish music. She always said Joe was the love of her life, and she was thrilled when she became a grandmother.

Visitation will be Wednesday April 21, 2021 from 9-10:30 am at Thompson Memorial Home 310 Broad St Red Bank, NJ. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St James Church, 112 Broad St, Red Bank. At 11am, with Rite of Christian Burial to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers please make donations to causes that were dear to Patricia such as St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warriors, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
