John “Jack” Gilbert

John “Jack” Gilbert, age 73, was born in Irvington, NJ to John and Marie Gilbert.  He passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.  Jack graduated Irvington High School in 1961.  He attended college in Boston.  He went on to proudly serve with the US Navy, during the Vietnam War on the USS Willis A. Lee from 1961-1966.  He then went on to own his own IT consulting and computer programming company.  At the end of his career, he consulted for K.B.W. in New York City.  He retired in 1988.   In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved being outdoors.  

Jack is survived by Salvatore and MacKenzie Giorgio of Oakhurst, NJ; as well as a host of cousins and friends.


Visitation will be at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 26th, 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Red Bank.  Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in his memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Fndt., Central Jersey Chapter, 740 Broad St., Shrewsbury, NJ  07702 or online at www.jdrf.org/chapters/nj/central-jersey.
