Marion Irene Marrazzo

Marion Irene Marrazzo (Bennett) passed away on 12/16/2022.

Marion was born at home in Middletown, NJ, the daughter of Mary and Benjamin Bennett. Her childhood was during the Great Depression and World War II. Some of her fondest childhood memories include attending movies at the Carlton Theatre (especially those with Roy Rogers), swimming, boating and crabbing in the Shrewsbury River, swimming in the ocean at Sea Bright, and attending school in Red Bank. She was on of 10 children – 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Marion worked at Eisner’s factory (now the Galleria in Red Bank) at the end of WW II making uniforms for the soldiers. She later relocated to Staten Island and raised her family there. She worked in her and her husband’s restaurant business and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a respected member of the community. She was known for her sense of humor, culinary skills, love of reading, writing poetry, telling jokes, doing crossword puzzles, listening to country music, being a valued friend and confidant and enjoying the simple things in life including a good cup of coffee.

Marion was predeceased by her husband John, grandson Timothy and daughter-in-law MaryAnn.

Marion was a caring mother devoted to her family. She is survived by her children Robert, Michael and his wife Debbie (who was more like daughter to Marion), daughter Mary Lou and her husband Adam.

She is also survived by her adored grandchildren– Linda, Carol, Christopher, Steven and Jason; and her cherished great grandchildren –   Joseph, Brandon, Shane, Cory, Justin, Tanner, Melaina, Chloe, Cecilia and Henry.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 11:30-12:30 pm, with a prayer service at 12:15 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Interment with a graveside service will follow at 1 pm at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, NJ.
