He was born on April 28, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York after his parents immigrated from County Clare, Ireland. He was the first generation of his family to be born in the United States. He passed suddenly Saturday July 8th, 2023. He leaves broken-hearted three daughters who adored him with all of their hearts and the love of his life, his wife Donna. Growing up in Brooklyn, he worked in the restaurant business until the late 1980s. Then, he was offered a job to go work on the New York Stock Exchange and a few short years later, founded his own brokerage firm as a member of the NYSE.

Dermott and his wife Donna were high school sweethearts and spent a lot of time together. They went to their high school prom and worked at Nightfalls and Embers restaurants together in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. They married on November 10, 1990 and had three beautiful daughters, Olivia born in 1991, Ireland born in 1997, and Ashton born in 1998.  Together, Dermott and Donna built two homes for their family in Colts Neck, NJ. Their overpowering love for one another guided them in creating a life of incredible memories for themselves and their daughters. They spent all of their moments together, in love and filled with pure joy. Their happiness came from each other.

As a father to his three daughters, his generosity was vast and limitless. He would have moved mountains or flown to the moon for them. His love for them was tremendous and special. His girls saw him as an invincible force of goodness who brought all the warmth, safety, and comfort in the world.

His heart of gold carried a brightness that made his family, friends, and strangers feel special. He was a captivating story-teller and could effortlessly bring a lighthearted spirit into a person’s heart. If you were lucky enough to know him, your heart was filled by his.
