Diane Wolejsza

Diane Wolejsza

Diane Wolejsza, of Lincroft, New Jersey, passed away peacefully the morning of Friday, November 24th, after living 60 amazing years.

Diane was born on May 22nd, 1963, to Walter and Ann Wolejsza, who dedicated their entire lives to Diane.

Though being born with Down Syndrome, Diane was a social butterfly - taking after her father, she had a heart of gold - taking after her mother and she had a great sense of humor, cracking jokes and being sneaky whenever she could. Diane was a graduate from Middletown South High School and continued to be active in the community after. Diane participated in many different day programs highlighting The Dorbrook Recreation Program and The Arc of Monmouth. Diane absolutely loved going to her programs to do aerobics, art projects, socialize with others and “have fun”.

When Diane wasn’t at her program, she would be spending time with her family. Diane was a great swimmer and loved to be in the pool, whether she was floating or doing slow paced laps. Diane also had a bit of a wild side, from the rollercoasters at Six Flags or the boardwalk in Point Pleasant to the slot machines in Atlantic City. Diane will be remembered for her creative coloring skills, her “notes” that only those select few people would receive and of course her bowling game.

Diane is survived by siblings, sister Janet (Ian) Goldrich, sister Kathi (Peter) Hatch, brother James (Karen) Wolejsza and her many nieces and nephews. Diane is predeceased by parents Walter and Ann and brother William Wolejsza.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29th, from 4-7PM at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 30th at 11:30am at Saint James Roman Catholic Church, 94 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Diane’s memory to The Arc of Monmouth (1158 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ, 07712). Diane has been attending the day program at the Arc of Monmouth for many years now.
