Lynnda L. Peterman

Lynnda L. Peterman

Lynnda L. Peterman, 86, resident of Red Bank NJ but always a proud daughter of her hometown of Baltimore MD, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023.

Lynnda was born on December 18, 1937 in Baltimore and graduated from Western High School. Lynnda remained in Baltimore, meeting her husband, the late Robert L Peterman, better known as “Bob” and they created a wonderful life together while raising their daughter Kara.

Lynnda loved her hometown of Baltimore and its unique personality and traditions, from enjoying steamed crab feasts to rooting on the Orioles and Ravens. Her steadfast support and exuberant cheering surely contributed to both teams’ recent successes.

She found a second family and years of happiness and fulfillment at the Boys’ Latin School of Maryland, where she also made some of her very best friends.

She moved to New Jersey in 2013 and adopted a new place to call home and made many new friends, driving around in “the green machine”, spending time with Kara and son in law Emmett Wood, having dinners with “the ladies,” and enjoying countless holidays, birthdays and adventures, including to Maine and to the Jersey Shore with the Wood clan.

Most of all she was an amazing “Granny” to Molly and Lily, the apples of her eye. She loved attending their games and school activities, and being part of their lives on a daily basis. Being with them as they grew up was the highlight of her later years.

Lynnda lived her life guided by a fierce love of family and friends, strength of character, strong morals and warmth. She was a life-long learner, reading books and keeping up with the news, about which she had a lot of opinions. She was a trusted confidant, always there with time to listen and to give wise advice, and she will be greatly missed.

Lynnda was predeceased by her husband Robert L. Peterman and her parents Lois and Vincent Martz.

She is survived by her daughter Kara Peterman Wood, son in law Emmett J. Wood,  granddaughters Molly and Lily, sister Bonnie J. Cummins and husband Leroy Cummins and countless friends who loved her like family.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
