Mary Anne Edwards passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024, at the age of 92 surrounded by her family. She was born in Baldwin, NY.
Mary Anne was married to her husband Ted for 60 years until his passing in 2011. They lived in Lindenhurst, NY for 43 years before moving to Ocean Pines, MD in 1998. She moved to Middletown, NJ in 2017 to be near her family.
Mary Anne was predeceased by her husband, Edward “Ted” Edwards, her parents Margaret Keirnan and John Keirnan, her brother, John Kiernan, and sister-in-law Silvana Kiernan.
Mary Anne is survived by her four children, Jeff Edwards, Kathy Engelmann, Carol Grant (Rip), Patrick Edwards (Nancy), nine grandsons Timothy Edwards (Josh), Arthur Engelmann (Maxine), Christopher Engelmann (Scott), Thomas Edwards (Keryn), Kyle Grant (Gabriella), Connor Grant (Victoria) Ryan Grant, Kevin Edwards, Steven Edwards and one granddaughter “the princess” Kristen Edwards, great grandchildren Lilah Edwards-Vaughn, Hailey Edwards-Vaughn, Connor Edwards, Giulietta Grant, Maeve Edwards, Benicio Grant, Valentina Grant, Lola Grant, and Luciana Grant, Baby E on the way, nephews Robert Kiernan, John Kiernan, Raymond Kiernan, niece Sandy Alcus, many great nephews and nieces and many more great-great nephews and nieces.
Mary Anne was dedicated to her faith and her family. She loved to play cards and games with her grandchildren especially, Nickels, Uno, Phase 10, and Candy Bingo. Mary Anne also enjoyed travelling with her husband and friends; vacations with her family in August were also a high priority.
Though Mary Anne was small in stature at 5’ 1”, her friends referred to her as “tiny but mighty”. She enjoyed playing cards, scrapbooking at the church, walking, reading, and baking cookies for the holidays with her grandchildren. Above all she cherished time with her family and friends in the backyard hosting a good ole fashion BBQ.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9th from 2-4 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. A private Crematoria will take place in Center Moriches, NY.
