Elizabeth S. Bond, 81, passed away on September 9th, 2024, at home in Middletown, NJ. Born on December 21, 1942, in Budapest, Hungary, she became a US citizen and lived in several communities in the Monmouth County area for most of her life. Known for her kindness and gentle smile, she was a warm presence to all that knew her.
Elizabeth dedicated many years of her life to the jewelry industry, working at Reussille’s Jewelers in Red Bank and later serving as manager of Ballew’s Jewelers of Sea Girt until her retirement. She was sought after for her expertise in the field.
She was a member of Tower Hill Presbyterian Church in Red Bank for over fifty years. She contributed as a Sunday School teacher and church deacon. Faith was a vital part of her life and inspired many of her community contributions.
Elizabeth was also known for her varied personal hobbies. She was an avid tennis player, book club member, a passionate gardener, and an active member of the Fair Haven Garden Club. She loved painting, designing planters, arranging flowers and spending time with friends.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Katherine Merton, son-in-law Craig Merton, granddaughters Abigail, Amanda, and Sara Merton, sons Thomas CF Moog and Michael J Moog, and grandson Thomas J Moog. She is also survived by her brother, James Brando. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Bond, and her parents, Arpad and Elizabeth Lopuchovszky, and her sister Anna Endes.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 5th at 11am at Tower Hill Presbyterian Church, 255 Harding Rd, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, NJ.
