Peter G. Stumpf

Peter G. Stumpf

Peter G. Stumpf died suddenly in Long Branch, NJ on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the age of 67. He will be remembered by the quick wit, contagious laughter and the music that enriched the lives of everyone around him.

He was born to Rita and George Stumpf in Brooklyn, New York, where he enjoyed a lively and vibrant childhood. Peter married the love of his life, Jeanne, in 1983 and they have enjoyed 41 years of marriage. To everyone that knew them, it was obvious that Peter and Jeanne belonged together.  They intentionally built a life with love and family at the center. Peter truly cherished parenthood and was thrilled to welcome a granddaughter in 2023.

He attended Christ the King High School in Queens, NY where he especially enjoyed participating in the theater and powerlifting programs. He also achieved the honor of Eagle Scout. He earned his Associate’s Degree at The College of Staten Island.

Peter and Jeanne resided in Brooklyn and Staten Island before settling in Lincroft, NJ in 1995. Peter was a well-respected and skilled electrician with a notable talent for project management. He proudly passed his electrical skills on to his son, who follows in his footsteps. He also served as a member of the Special Officers and Guards group, with whom he provided security services at many large concerts and events at several New York City venues.

When he was not hard at work, Peter cultivated a passion for music. He channeled his passion through singing and playing live music with his guitar. You could find him playing songs from some of his favorite artists and bands including Paul Simon, The Lovin’ Spoonful, and John Denver. Whether it was a casual jam or his annual Music Fest celebration, he loved bringing together his favorite things: family, friends, and music.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, George and Rita Stumpf. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, his daughter Emily (Harry) Davies, his son Peter (Alexis) Stumpf, his granddaughter Madeline Davies and his siblings Paul (Doris), Mary, George (Maria), Susan (Robert), and David (Tu).
