Louise B. Davies

Louise B. Davies (nee Buttrick), age 94, of Red Bank, NJ, passed away peacefully Monday, February 10, 2025. Born in 1930 in Atlantic City, NJ., and was raised in Margate, NJ, where her father operated an Eastman Kodak Store on the Atlantic City boardwalk and her mother, originally from Mexico City, was a devoted wife and mother to Louise and her brother Louis.

Louise was a passionate woman who loved her family, friends, and community.  She had a wonderful laugh and was always ready for a party. As a former Travel agent, she and her husband traveled extensively creating many wonderful memories with their family and friends.  Louise was very proud of her Mother’s Mexican heritage and had made many trips to Mexico visiting family. She attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. majoring in Spanish using her language skills in secretarial positions and then, after moving to Florida teaching ESL classes there.

She was also very proud of her father’s family history and the connection to several patriots involved  in the Revolutionary War, joining the DAR to celebrate these very interesting ancestors. 

She was predeceased by her Beloved husband of 63 years John B. Davies, Jr. She is survived by and was the loving mother to children John his wife Sharon, Cynthia her husband Bruce, Glenn his wife Debbie, and Christopher. Grandmother of 6 wonderful young adults and their spouses. Great-Grandmother to 8 amazing children

A Celebration of her life will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 65 West Front St., Red Bank, NJ on Monday, February 17th at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, NJ. Contributions in her memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, Red Bank NJ or Wilson College, 1015 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank, NJ.
