John R. Quinn

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of beloved husband, father and grandfather, John Quinn, who died on October 30, 2025 at the age of 69.

John was born in Newark, New Jersey to Marion (Logan) Quinn and John Quinn, he has been a resident of Shrewsbury, New Jersey for over 30 years. While at Manhattan College, he met his wife, Joanne, to whom he was married for 38 years.

John was a special education teacher at Red Bank Regional High School for over 30 years, and continued to teach students through the home instruction program for Rumson Fair Haven High School and Holmdel High School. He was a gifted teacher, and he always sought to engage students where they were coming from, with an open mind and heart.

Prior to becoming a father, he was a varsity football coach at Mater Dei High School and Red Bank Regional High School and was always happy to share his knowledge and expertise with anyone who would ask. When two of his sons became high school coaches, John attended every game, cheering on RFH in football and Holmdel in lacrosse. He will be sorely missed in the stands.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Chris (Marissa), Brendan (Hilary) and Patrick (Kristine) and five grandchildren; Murphy, Jamie, Parker, Piper and Reese.
