Ethel L. Milazzo

Ethel L. Milazzo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel Milazzo, who died on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, at the age of 91.

Ethel Lillian Fliszar was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 1934. Known as Nana to most, she loved entertaining, solitaire, theatre, baking, and most importantly, cooking. She was a strong, proud woman who we assumed would outlive us all because of her strength and independence.

Ethel did it all, from graduating from the New School Culinary Arts Program in 1980, to raising two beautiful, kind daughters, Gloria and Nicole, to being the best Nana to her Grandchildren and everyone she met along the way.

Ethel will be remembered in a multitude of ways: her potato chip cookies, the scratch-off tickets she gave out every Christmas, her delicious chicken noodle soup, and the love that she brought into all of our lives.

Ethel’s humor is something that we will cherish most. We thank Ethel for all the jokes and shared laughs she has brought to her friends and family.

Ethel is survived by her children, Gloria and Nicole and her husband Matthew, and her Grandchildren, Charley, Dylan, and Emma, who will miss her dearly.

Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Dante Milazzo; her son, Dante Michael Milazzo; her parents, Matthew and Ethel Fliszar; and her siblings, Frank Fliszar, Mary Ster, Joseph Fliszar, and Helen Simon.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30th from 12-3 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Burial will be private.

Rest in peace, Nana. You will be with us forever.
