David Mockridge, of Nutley, New Jersey, and Montrose, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. Born in Glen Ridge to Chester and Marion Mockridge, Dave built a long and dedicated career with Bell Telephone and later AT&T, retiring after 30 years of service.
Dave had a lifelong passion for cars—especially Volkswagens and BMWs—enjoying both collecting and repairing them. His mechanical talent extended far beyond automobiles; he was always eager to help neighbors and friends by fixing their electronics, appliances, and anything else that needed a skilled and patient hand.
Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, Dave had a gift for offering comments that could make a whole room smile. He marched to the beat of his own drum and lived life on his own unique terms. After retirement, he found great joy spending time outdoors on his farm in Pennsylvania, a place that brought him peace and fulfillment.
Dave was deeply loved and appreciated by his family and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his sister, Marcia M. Giffin of Fair Haven; his nephew David Giffin and wife Yvonne of Houston; his niece Debra G. Schluter of Fair Haven and her husband Joseph Schluter; and their sons, Michael and Andrew.
All services were private.
