Bridget Raspanti, 73, named after her grandmother Bridgetta, of Highlands, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, 2025. Christmas Eve was Bridget’s favorite holiday, a time for family to gather and honor traditions old and new. She was especially proud of the Feast of the Seven Fishes, a tradition she lovingly insisted upon each year.
Born on September 3, 1952, in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, to the late Saviero and Ida Gadaleta, Bridget was the eldest sibling to her late brothers, Sebastian and Peter. A lifelong caregiver, Bridget worked her way through nursing school at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey, graduating as a Licensed Practitioner Nurse with a degree in oncology. She began her career in the oncology and hospice units at Holy Name, where she formed lifelong friendships and experience. After raising her three children, she returned to nursing, working late shifts at the former Riverview Nursing Home on West Front Street. She later transitioned to Preferred Health Mate, coordinating in-home care for those in need. Bridget’s heart was always in service to others.
Bridget met her husband, Michael Raspanti, while they were coaching the Ridgefield Park Pop Warner cheerleading and football teams. Their shared commitment grew into a lifelong love, and they were married on May 20, 1978, at St. Francis of Assisi Church. They later moved to Monmouth County, together, Bridget and Michael worked exceptionally hard throughout their lives to raise their family.
Strong-willed and deeply compassionate, Bridget had a love for cooking and a commitment to serving her community. She helped support her daughter-in-law at Homegrown, a nature-based in-home daycare, where she lovingly cared for her grandchildren and other children from the community. Above all, Bridget cherished her family, especially her seven grandchildren—whom she showered with home-cooked meals, thoughtful gifts, and constant notes of encouragement.
Bridget is survived by her husband, Michael Raspanti; her daughter, Tara Raspanti, and husband, John Paul Deickmann (parents of Ryland and Torren); her son, Michael Paul Raspanti, and wife, Jaime Madalena (parents of Isabella and Oliver-Michael); and her son, Nicholas Raspanti, and wife, Mia Raspanti (parents of Weston, Logan, and Roman).
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for close friends and family on Wednesday, January 7th at 10 am at St. James Church, 94 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bridget’s memory to JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, NJ. Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank has been entrusted with the arrangements.
