It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Zemann, who passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 69. Born Mary Belmonte in South Amboy, N. J., Mary most recently resided in Red Bank, N.J. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in South Amboy and Caldwell College in Caldwell, N.J.
Mary was a devout Catholic and taught for many years at St. Francis Grammar School in Metuchen, N.J. Upon retirement, Mary spent her time tutoring children with disabilities.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Claire Belmonte, and her nephews, Shane and Patrick Taylor. Mary leaves behind her daughter, Hayley Zemann, and her father Steve; brother, Joseph Belmonte, and his wife, Carol; their daughters, Bree, spouse Gavin Biggs, and children, Freddie and Blair; Celia and spouse Patrick Bussard and their daughter, Palmer; Brother John Belmonte and his wife, Betsy; their children, Chris and Laura; spouse Kyle and son, Jack. Also, sister Patti Taylor, and children R.J. Paige and spouse Karl Herwig.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 94 Broad St., Red Bank, N.J. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the SPCA, 260 Wall St. Eatontown, N.J. 07724. Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank, NJ has been entrusted with the arrangements.
