Janet H. DelCiello

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and good friend.  Janet H. DelCiello died peacefully at home on August 17, 2026 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease .  She was born in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City to the late Ethel and Harry Olson.  She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School and married Robert Del Ciello in 1968.  They moved to New Jersey in 1970 where they raised their two sons, Richard and Michael.  In addition to her full-time role as mother, Janet attended Brookdale Community College, became licensed as a registered nurse and worked at CentraState Medical Center. 

 Janet relocated to Westboro, MA, in 1979 and worked as a registered nurse at UMASS Medical Center and continued her education and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at Lesley College.  She also began a career in the pharmaceutical industry.  She worked for G. D. Searle, Syntex Laboratories, Bristol Myers Squibb and Forest Laboratories.  She relocated back to NJ in 1992.

Janet married Randall Scott in 1996 and lived in Princeton and South Brunswick, NJ.  They also lived in Dobbs Ferry, NY, while Janet worked as a Marketing Director for Forest Laboratories in NYC.   In 2002 Janet started a consulting business, Managed Care Advantage, which helped provide software solutions for pharmaceutical marketing challenges.  She and Randy moved to Jackson, NJ, and jointly managed the business.  They retired and moved to Forked River, NJ, in 2015 and finally moved to Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, NJ in 2024.

After retirement Janet volunteered with the Ocean County Health Department conducting classes designed to help individuals with chronic diseases take better control of their lives.  Janet enjoyed travelling with family and friends.  She and Randy travelled to Europe, South and Central America, the Caribbean, and much of the US.  She also liked skiing and cycling.  Whenever possible Janet loved to do things with the grandchildren including trips to Great Adventure, the beach, Broadway shows, boating, hiking, and short vacation getaways.

Janet will be missed by her loving husband Randy and two sons, Richard Del Ciello and Michael Del Ciello and his wife Jill.  She also leaves behind Randy’s daughters, Catherine Krout and her husband Brad, and Christine Hoekzema.  Also left behind are ten wonderful grandchildren, Christina, Jackie, Danielle, Nick, Jack, Olivia, Luke, Ainsley, Beatrix, Xavier and great granddaughter Margaret.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21st from 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Alder Brook Cemetery Guilford, CT.
