James D. Burns, Age 95, passed away on April 23, 2018, at home. He was born in the Bronx, NY to John and Beatrice Burns. Before moving to Middletown, Mr. Burns was a member of the Junior Vets Tennis Association, was active in Scouting and a charter member of the Hillside Swim Club in Staten Island.
Mr. Burns was a Supervisor for the NY Telephone company and also a bus driver for the Ranney School. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua in Red Bank.
He served his Country during World II in the US Marine Corp.
Mr. Burns is predeceased by his wife Joan. He is survived by his sons Michael, Christopher, Anthony, Nicholas, James and David; his daughters Alison Antenucci, Hillary Lombardi and Adrienne Burmeister; his brother Harold Reilly; sister Geraldine Corbliss; eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 26th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 27th at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua, 121 Bridge Ave, Red Bank. Interment will be private.
