William Boccellato, 91, passed away on April 29, 2018, at home. He was born in Long Branch. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and he was a civilian employee at Ft. Monmouth until his retirement. After his retirement from the Fort, he was a bus driver for many years for Murphy Transportation in Middletown. William was a member of the River Plaza Fire Co for over 40 years and was a member of the Rumson Seniors. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
William is predeceased by his son-in-law Albert Culos in 2016. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Barbara; his son Ronald of River Plaza; his daughter Gloria Culos of Brick; grandchildren Alicia Curcio, Theresa & her husband Aaron Josa and Brian & Jamie Boccellato; and great-grandchildren Joseph, Thomas, Chloe & Lucas Curcio, Aaron & Brandon Josa, and Eliana & Caelin Boccellato.
Visitation will be Friday, May 4th from 5 to 8 p.m., with a Fireman’s Service at 7:30, at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank. Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 5th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the River Plaza Hose Co #9, 26 Applegate St, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
