Geoffrey Stevens passed away on May 25, 2018, at Hackensack University Medical Center. Jeff was born in Akron, Ohio, and spent his childhood in Florida, where he learned to love everything about the natural world. He moved to Red Bank in 1992 and was employed by Best of Nature natural products company as product development engineer. His interests and talents were diverse and included developing soil mixtures for vegetables, kayaking, hiking, meteorology, and the practices of shamans he met in the Amazon rain forest.
He is survived by his father, Henry, age 98 and a veteran of World War II; his siblings Caroline Stevens of Ashburn VA, Ronald Stevens of Los Angeles, CA, Pamela Colucci and husband Robert of Tampa, FL and Deborah Stevens, Tampa, FL; and his nephew, Joseph Colucci and wife Deirdre of Tampa, FL. He also leaves a group of devoted friends in the area who supported him and his father during his last illness.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, May 30th at 7 p.m. at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 31st at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Rd, Fair Haven, NJ.
