It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Scalzo announces that she passed away peacefully on July 28, 2018.
Josephine was born on in West New York, NJ. She had one brother and 3 sisters and was a life-long resident of Monmouth County. While working at Eisner's Uniform Factory in Red Bank, Josephine Leone met her future husband, Joseph P. Scalzo. Josie and Joe were married on June 1, 1953 and were married until his passing in April of 1993. Together they raised two children, Linda A. and Joseph L. Scalzo. Josie demonstrated unconditional love for her extended family and thanked God daily for her blessings. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her kind heart, extreme pride and devotion to family, and a sharp sense of humor.
She is survived by her son Joseph and his wife Jean, her daughter Linda and her husband Andrew Rudoff, two grandsons, Tom and Richard, and a great-granddaughter Margaret. Josephine is also survived by her sister Edith Villani of Naples, Fl. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank, on Tuesday, July 31 from 5 to 8 pm, with prayers at 7:30. Commital services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown, on Friday, August 2 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
