Gayle Townley Ballard, 73, of Atlantic Highlands, died April 15, 2016 at Riverview Medical Center after a brief illness. She was raised in Green Brook and lived in Piscataway for many years before relocating to Atlantic Highlands eight years ago. She graduated from Dunellen High School and Muhlenberg School of Nursing. Upon graduation, she worked as a registered nurse at Overlook Hospital in Summit until the birth of her children. Later, she returned to work at United National Bank, retiring after 25 years.
Gayle was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Alice Lisle Townley and her brother, Craig Townley. She is survived by her son and his wife, David and Tracey of Little Silver, her daughter, Lori of Manasquan, her grandchildren Kelsey and Cameron and numerous loving cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22 from 6-9 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank, New Jersey. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Medical Center Foundation Oncology Center, 1 Riverview Plaza, Red Bank, New Jersey, 07701.
