Obituaries

Peter Carl “Pierce” Jarck, Jr., 16, devoted son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017.  Pierce came into this world in December 2000.  He was born in New York City and resided in Rumson, NJ. 

Pierce was a junior at the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.  He was passionate about lacrosse and was a Long Stick Midfielder for the RFH Varsity Lacrosse team and NJ Riot.  Pierce’s contagious laugh, witty sense of humor and unparalleled loyalty made him a beloved leader and consummate teammate.  When not on the field, Pierce loved surfing, weight-lifting, and he loved to cook and hang out with his family and friends.

Alice E. White, age 63 of Red Bank, NJ, passed away on October 11, 2017.

She was a loving sister and aunt who loved her nephew and nieces as her own and was their strongest advocate.  Alice enriched our lives with her love, kindness, and sense of humor.  Always the story teller enhancing family memories.  

Angela L. D’Alotto, 86 of Lakewood, formerly of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on October 13, 2017, in Brick, NJ.  Angela was born in New York City to Rocco and Marion Lagano.  She was a Bank Teller for Community National Bank in Staten Island. 

Angela is predeceased by her parents and her husband Louis A. D’Alotto.  She is survived by her sons Louis A. D’Alotto III & his wife Zana of Little Silver and Rocco A. D’Alotto and Angela of Tinton Falls; her brother Joseph Lagano of Las Vegas, NV; and her grandchildren Angela T. D’Alotto and Louis A. D’Alotto IV. 

Jennifer Lynn Tobias, 63 of Little Silver, passed away on October 12, 2017, at home surrounded by her family after a short and courageous battle with cancer. 

Jennifer was born in Red Bank and graduated from Rumson Fair Haven High School Class of 1972.  She worked for Progressive Life Insurance in Red Bank, NJ.  She was a caregiver for many local women.  Jennifer loved her family more than anything else and loved watching everything her grandsons did.

Paul William Noglows, age 93 of Little Silver, passed away October 11, 2017.  Born in Red Bank, NJ and a graduate of Red Bank High School, Paul was married to his late wife Flora for 62 years.  He was co-founder and co-owner of Monmouth Meats in the Little Sliver area for 50 years.  Paul is a World War II highly decorated veteran.  

Paul is survived by his four children, son William Noglows and his wife Michelle of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, his daughters Elizabeth Siciliano and her husband Ric of Oceanport, NJ, Gail Fleming and her husband Don of Pennington, NJ and Diane Cooke and her husband Robert of Berlin, MD.  He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Thomas of Fairfield, CT and his 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  

Nancy was born on June 21, 1934 in Columbus, Georgia.  She was the only child of Eugenia and Willis Matthews. Nancy passed away on October 10, 2017.  Her father was a Major General in the U.S. Army, so the family moved frequently.   In her younger years, Nancy enjoyed ballet dancing and horseback riding. She married Jack Middleton at the American Cathedral in Paris on August 13, 1955.  Nancy acted as Treasurer of the Junior League and served on the Altar Guild at All Saint’s Memorial Church. 

Janet Esposito Kaiser of Rumson, NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. She was born in Jersey City, NJ, grew up in Rumson, then resided in Lincroft and later Rumson with her husband Herbert E. Kaiser and her son Ted Kaiser.

She attended local Rumson schools and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Art History at Old Dominion University. Jan was an art teacher in the Middletown School District before moving on to a career in real estate. She was active in the community through the Junior League of Monmouth County as well as volunteering on several local fundraising committees, including The American Cancer Ball Committee of Monmouth County. Jan was an avid dog lover, especially her Golden Retrievers, and actively supported the Monmouth County SPCA.

Phyllis B. Scholz, of Middletown, passed away at home on Monday October 9, 2017.  Born in Marshalltown Iowa, she resided in Middletown, NJ for more than 50 years.  Phyllis attended Cornell College and University, receiving a BS in nursing. 

Phyllis will be remembered for her love of her husband, children, grandchildren, sister, and extended family. 

Among her many interests, Phyllis enjoyed traveling, reading and watching sports.

Angela A. DeGeorge, 95 of Fair Haven, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Brighton Gardens of Middletown.  She was born November 14, 1921 in Red Bank, NJ.  She attended the Red Bank Schools.  She was employed as a seamstress at Eisner’s Factory and later Savages Factory, both in Red Bank, for many years prior to her retirement in the early 50’s.  She was one of the many women who worked there making military uniforms during World War II.  She was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank.  She was a loyal member of St. Ann’s Society and the Red Bank Seniors.

James “Rivers” Walling, age 62 of Red Bank passed away on Wednesday, October 4th, with his loving daughters and former wife by his side.  Jim was a dynamic individual with a witty sense of humor who always brought laughter and smiles to those around him. He was truly a jack of all trades and master of many. He was well known by family and friends for being able to fix anything. His interests were vast and included anything from photography to short wave radio, hiking to air brush painting and even building boat motors. Jim’s career also took him down many roads... auto mechanic, radio tower technician for Motorola, deep sea fisherman, carpenter, operations manager at Shadow Traffic and Metro Traffic in New York City and ultimately owner of Baysys Communications in Red Bank where he provided data and cabling solutions for clients.  He was also a life-time member of the Lincroft First Aid Squad.
