Anne Weickel

Anne Weickel, 91, of Middletown, passed away June 22, 2017 at home. She was born in Newark to the late Elizabeth and Frederick Timm.

Community activities and volunteer work played a major role in her life. Anne was a member and participant in several committees of the First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank-Tower Hill since 1961. She was very active with the United Presbyterian Women (U.P.W.) and her U.P.W. Circle. She did numerous volunteering activities to the community through the church. Since 1989 Anne had been a member of the Red Bank Elks Lodge 233 Auxiliary. She was also very active in the Sons of Norway Noreg Lodge #466 in Marlboro for over 20 years. Among her other volunteer work was helping in various capacities for Boy Scouts of America, Troup 110 in Lincroft and The American Legion Post 168.

Anne was predeceased by her parents; husband of 56 years Edward, and brother Frederick. She is survived by her brother George; son Edward, Jr. and grandson, Aubrey.

Samuel K. Phillips

Samuel K. Phillips, 82 of Eatontown, formerly of Shrewsbury, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at home surround by his loving family after a long battle with cancer.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Carol (Newman) Phillips; his children, Glenn Phillips (Sheri), Linda Spratford (Michael), Samuel L Phillips (Marybeth), Dale Phillips (Tim Woolley), Marylin Phillips (Joseph Holiday), Tammi Antonelli (Robert); 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and brothers, H Lawrence Phillips and Alan Phillips. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Phillips.

Margaret M. Maurice

Margaret “Peggy” Maurice, 83, of Middletown, unexpectedly passed away on June 27, 2017 at Newark Beth Israel Hospital. Born on February 23, 1934 in Teaneck, NJ and grew up in Woodbridge before moving to Middletown where she raised her family. Peggy enjoyed traveling the world, gambling in Atlantic City and Las Vegas and playing cards and bingo with her friends and neighbors in Shady Oaks. Peggy was always omnipresent in the lives of her family and friends. Her love for her family and friends will not soon be forgotten.

Albert C. Eremich

Albert C. Eremich, 91, of Red Bank, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel, NJ.

Albert was born in Mt. Carmel, PA to John Eremich and Eva Lonoski. He grew up playing sports and in school, was on the football, basketball and track teams. After graduating from Mt. Carmel High School in 1943, he enlisted in the US Navy and served for 3 years on a minesweeper during World War II.

Todd Andresen Smith

Todd Andresen Smith was born in 1926 in Brooklyn New York, son of William Elliott Todd and Catherine Andresen Smith. He served in the Navy during WW2 as a Seabee Machinist Mate 3^rd Class in Okinawa. Todd’s passions were cars, engines, and above all boats. He was a lifetime member of the Shrewsbury River Yacht Club since 1983. He worked for Bell Labs as an electrical engineer and “Inventor” for 36 years, earning 3 patents. He married Joan Gootman in 1955, selling his cherished boat to pay for the engagement ring. They had three children Alan, Carol, and Linda.

George Arthur Yetka

George Arthur Yetka was born on February 3rd, 1934 to Edward and Louisa Yetka. He was the youngest of eleven children in the Yetka house. The family lived in Jersey City, NJ, the city where George would meet his sweetheart, Dolores Smith. Dolores, or Nanny, as she’s called by her family, says, “Back then, he was going with a lot of girls.” But from then on, she was the only one.

David Martin Noyes

David Martin Noyes, 81, of Tinton Falls, New Jersey, passed away on May 3, 2017. He was born in Mineola, NY. David was the only child of Lois Martin Noyes and George Ellsworth Noyes, both of whom predeceased him.

David grew up in Great Neck, NY where his Father was a high school Biology Teacher and Principal. David obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vermont and a Master’s Degree in Science from Fairleigh Dickenson University.

Stephen Woodard

Stephen C. Woodard, 71, of Shrewsbury, NJ passed away suddenly on June 2, 2017. Steve was the eldest child of the late Vernon O. and Bernice F. (McCaughey) Woodard. He was born in 1946 in Memphis, TN where his parents were briefly stationed following World War II, but he was raised in Closter, NJ. He graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School where he was a champion quarter miler. Maintaining his love of running for many years, Steve was a proud finisher of the NYC marathon in 1982.

Janice Marie Powers

Janice Marie Powers, 67 of West Allenhurst, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2017, after fighting the good fight for more than 11 years. Janice was born in Perth Amboy, graduated Perth Amboy High School in 1967 and was looking forward to her 50th class reunion. She was a communicant of St. Stephen’s in Perth Amboy.

Mary Elizabeth Keale

On May 29, 2017 Mary Elizabeth Keale nee Holsey (known to all as Mere Mere) from Little Silver and most recently for a second run in Shrewsbury, passed to her eternal rest while surrounded by family at Riverview Medical Center. She achieved her dream of the past decade by being reunited with Jack, her husband of 54 years, with whom she will no doubt enjoy the summer as she has wanted since his passing in February 2007. Known for her never diminished desire to engage in a spirited debate on virtually any topic, MereMere was a committed friend to many, an enthusiastic story teller, social to the end and the Matron of her loving family of 5 children (whom she loved), 16 grandchildren (whom she adored) and 6 (plus one due shortly) great grandchildren (who were the pride of her life).

Kenneth Ray Green

Kenneth Ray Green, 80 of Leonardo, passed away on May 29, 2017. Kenneth was born in Middlesboro, KY to Oscar and Cleo Hall Green. He was a Union Carpenter with Local #2250 in Red Bank. He was also employed by the Eisner family and before retirement he worked for Stavola Contracting Co as a maintenance manager.
