Patricia Ann Victory Riddle passed away peacefully December 15^th 2021, at her home in Little Silver. She was born on the 4^th of July 1939.  Her life is to be celebrated.  Patricia is loved for her gift of kindness and focus on family and friends and her beautiful blue eyes and wonderful smile. 

Patricia had an active lifestyle.   She was a member of the Junior League, Monmouth Beach Bath & Tennis Club, Seabright Lawn & Tennis club, golf at Spring Lake Country Club, ski trips to Vermont. Patricia captured and embraced life.  She always loved going to the city to see a Broadway play or going to restaurants with friends and family.   Patricia enjoyed life and travelled the world with her beloved husband Ronald.   She always loved gardening.   Her beautiful flowers reflected the joy and happiness that she brought to everyone.   Patricia enjoyed her long walks on the boardwalk at the Jersey shore and the beautiful views of the ocean.

Joan Verdon Peer, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on December 15th surrounded by her adoring husband Norman, and her children whom she loved so much. 

Mrs. Peer was born in Hoboken on Jan. 12, 1937, the fourth of John and Hazel Verdon’s five children. She was raised in Ridgewood and in 1958 earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Rosemont College outside Philadelphia. 

While studying at Rosemont, she met Norman Peer, then a student at Villanova University, who became the love of her life. They married in 1962 and settled in 1970 in Little Silver where they raised their five children, who were born within eight years of each other. When all were teenagers, Joan and Norm welcomed 35 foster children into their home, two of whom they adopted – the famous Peer twins, Jennifer Anne and Justin Michael. Over the next twelve years, they opened their door and their arms to many more, taking in 35 foster children in all.

Norah M. Dufficy passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021, with her loving husband of 58 years Patrick, by her side. Norah is survived by her loving family; husband Patrick, son James, daughter-in-law Suzanne, sisters Kathleen, Mary, Bernie, brother Bill, and her most precious treasures, grandchildren Jack, Finnbar and Shea. Norah was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Julia O’Brien and brother John.

James William Cox, 54, of Little Silver, passed away on December 7, 2021 after a brief, courageous battle with Pancreatic cancer. 

John Carlos Santos was born on September 10, 1936 in Murtosa, Portugal. He was the oldest of two brothers born to Antonio and Maria. He passed away peacefully on December 5, 2021 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

John emigrated to the United States at age 11 and was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Athletically, he became the first All-American soccer player in FDU history. He still holds two NCAA men’s soccer records: saves in a game and saves per game in a season. In 1960, he was drafted into the Army where he proudly served his beloved country. After graduation and his service he went to work for Nabisco, then spent the rest of his long career as an executive at AT&T Bell Laboratories until his retirement in 1994.

Red Bank, NJ - Judith Hathaway, age 75, passed away peacefully on December 1st at her residence. She was born in Tuxedo, NY, and settled in the Red Bank area in 1993.

Judy was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs Liberal Arts School, and enjoyed a 25-year career at Hewlett Packard where she managed several branch sales offices. She was the founder and president of Ambassador Events Travel LLC.

The joy of Judy’s life was her beloved husband of 35 years, Howard L. Hathaway III. Together, they traveled the world, hosted parties, and spent countless hours with friends at Monmouth Boat Club. She was also a devoted and loving mother to her son, Timothy Hathaway.

Frank J. Rock of Red Bank passed away on December 2, 2021 at the age of 90. Born in Jersey City, Frank joined the Marines after high school and had a career as a Port Authority policeman, retiring as a Captain after 20 years. He was a director of security for Engelhard and later, a realtor in South Carolina.

Frank was a proud alumnus of Seton Hall University. He took classes at night to obtain his degree, forever exercising an incredible work ethic.

Throughout his life, Frank lived in Saddle Brook, East Hanover, and Rumson, NJ. He also lived in Seneca, SC for many years before returning to the Red Bank area. He spent his final days at Sunrise of Shrewsbury.

Lawrence D. Fossett, 67, died November 22, 2021 at his home in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Larry was born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in suburban Atlanta. He earned an honors degree in mathematics from Oberlin College and a PhD in operations research from Stanford University. He was retired from a lengthy career at Bell Labs and AT&T, where he earned awards for his work.

Larry was an avid traveler. He traveled up and down the East Coast for holidays and other family events, and took multiple trips to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Japan. He had a huge collection of T-shirts from bars all over the world that he garnered in his travels. In his younger days, he was a serious student of karate, earning the rank of third-degree black belt. He was also a Sudoku player and a successful amateur investor.

Michael J. Kramer, 40, of Red Bank, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. Born in Martinsburg, WV, he grew up in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, where he attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and Nottingham High School. He graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Architecture. Over the years, a few of the companies he worked for were InterArch in Mt. Laurel, NJ; WeWork, in NYC, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Singapore; and most recently Gopuff in Philadelphia, PA.

Michael (or “Kramer”) loved many things: surfing, watches (“You’re never completely dressed without the right watch”), punk rock, a good cigar with his friends, his Porsche, the New York Rangers, his rescue pups Maggi and Rosie, but most of all, his beloved wife Chi Lee. He was a devoted and loving husband, and was excitedly awaiting the arrival of #BabyKramer, a son due January 8^th. His loss is devastating to everyone who knew and loved him. And anyone who knew him DID love him.
