Augusta C. Torpey, 87, of Lakewood, NJ, formerly of Locust, NJ, passed away on April 29^th, 2021 at Jersey Shore Medical Center after a long battle with lung disease. Augusta (known to all as Gussie) was born on June 16, 1933 in Red Bank, NJ and graduated from Middletown High School in 1951. Upon graduation, she became a Radio City Rockette in New York City for several years. She was a model and participated in many beauty pageants in her younger days where she always took first place. Gussie then had a successful career in banking and was owner of Mrs. Uhlhorns Restaurant and Hotel in Keansburg, NJ along with her mother and sister. Gussie and her husband Michael owned Hidden Hollow Farms and Hidden Hollow Hounds Fox Hunting Club, leaders in the sport of fox hunting and equestrianship in the Monmouth County area. Prior to her retirement, she was an X-ray technician and office administrator for Red Bank Radiology in Red Bank, NJ.

Gussie started out as a teenager learning the value of charity and service through being a part of The Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Gussie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Sirius Chapter 123 in Matawan, NJ for 63 years. She was a member of The Order of the Amaranth Charity Court in Red Bank, NJ for 70 years achieving the title of Grand Royal Matron for the State of New Jersey. Gussie took great pride in the charity work she did for these organizations as well as the life long friendships she held dearly that she had made along the way.

Edwina Lewicki Romano, of Middletown, NJ, passed away Tuesday, April 27. Born in Waterbury, CT she was the daughter of late Dr. Edward Lewicki and Hedwig (Posila) Lewicki.

Edwina was the owner and artisan of Edwina’s Upholstery Workroom in Red Bank, NJ. She loved her workroom and her customers. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and watching nature.

She is survived by her children John Romano and his wife Mary Beth, Steven Romano and his wife Tami, her daughter Jodi Romano and B.J. Sage, and her dog Phoebe Too.  She also leaves her grandchildren Spencer, Justin, Mark and Evan, and her sister Heidi (Lewicki) Shea of Middlebury, Ct. 

Ann Lucy Moren, 73, passed away at home on Friday, April 16, 2021. Ann was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on January 16, 1948 to Everett and Norma (Selen) Flodman. She Graduated from Worcester South High School in 1966. Ann was married to Jan W. Moren on March 6, 1965. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from California State University, Long Beach California in 1975. Ann was a well-respected PT in California and New Jersey. She worked in hospital settings, with private physicians, in physical therapy facilities and as a volunteer at the US Army Physical Therapy facility in Belgium at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), in Mons, Belgium. Her career spanned a period of nearly forty years.

Ann was predeceased by her mother and father, as well as her brothers Col (R) John A. (Jack) Stockhaus, Ronald E. Flodman, Robert G. Flodman, niece Kerry Flodman and nephew Eric Stockhaus. Ann is survived by her husband Jan W. Moren, her son Jon E. Moren (Debra) her beloved Grandsons, who she would call “my heart”, Justin and Christopher Moren, and her Brother Richard A. Flodman (Priscilla).

Charles Frederic Mason Jr., died at home surrounded by family on 4/20/21 at the age of 72. The son of Charles F. Mason Sr. and Frances (Schumacher) Mason, he lived in New Jersey all his life. Charlie loved old time radio shows, television, and was an avid record collector.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Janice, his two sons Jeffrey and Timothy, Jeff’s wife Coral, Tim’s wife Becky, four grandchildren, and his 2 pugs.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our father and friend Lt. Col. Billie Thomas. Billie passed away peacefully on April,19 2021 from non-COVID related health issues at Riverview Hospital with his children by his side. He resided in Middletown New Jersey and Oak Hill NY.

Billie is predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Splain. Billie was 83 years of age. Billie graduated the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1962 and served over 20 years in the US Army including two tours in Vietnam. He held a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering which he later taught at West Point.

Patricia Ann Ahlemeyer (nee Sullivan) passed away peacefully on April 17th at the age of 83. She was born April 24,1937 to Joseph and Cecelia Sullivan in Jersey City, N.J. where she grew up with her younger siblings Margaret (Peggy) and Danny. Patricia graduated from St Al’s Academy in 1954. She was taken to her Senior Prom on Dec 27, 1953 by Joseph Ahlemeyer who was in the Army at the time and drove hundreds of miles from Oklahoma where he was stationed so nobody else could escort her. She went on to marry Joseph on Oct. 6, 1956 at St. Mary’s Church in Jersey City. After graduating high school, she worked for the telephone company for over 30 years, starting in New York then in Red Bank after moving with Joseph to Middletown in 1962. On January 29, 1973, she gave birth to her and Joseph’s only child, J.P.

Marion Mylod Fitzgerald, 83, Little Silver, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at home surrounded by her children. Marion was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a member of Saint Saviour's Parish. She was a graduate of the College of New Rochelle.  Marion was active in service as a spiritual director at the Upper Room in Neptune, NJ and the Church of St. Anselm in Wayside, NJ.  She was a grief counselor at Stephy’s Place and a New Life Support Leader for September 11th families in Red Bank, NJ.  She was a resident of Monmouth County, living in Little Silver and Shrewsbury for over 50 years.  Marion was a parishioner of The Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven.

Ann Marie Muyskens, Age 92, of Pompton Plains, NJ, died on Tuesday, April 13 at Morristown Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. David P. Muyskens. She is survived by her children Noel (Armanda), Kirsten Schanck (Bill), and Kevin (Cynthia), grandchildren Andrew Schanck (Lisa), Meredith Lindner (Peter), Evan and Ethan, great grandchildren Alexandra Lindner, George Lindner, and Anna Schanck, sisters Jean Melby, Constance Seraphine (John), Darleen Armstrong (Randy) and brother Joseph Leean (Virginia.)

Dennis Patrick Lynch entered eternal life on April 10, 2021, in his eightieth year. Born in Jersey City, Dennis was a son of Thomas E. Lynch and Mary Doust Lynch. A longtime resident of Rumson, N.J., he was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic H.S. After spending a postgraduate year at Phillips Exeter Academy, Dennis earned a B.A. from Yale College in l964.

Upon completion of his service in the Coast Guard, Dennis married his former classmate, Ann Marie Blades, his “best friend for life”. The newlyweds moved to Philadelphia where Dennis studied for his M.B.A. at Penn’s Wharton School, majoring in finance. He became a V.P. at Smith, Barney & Co. before cofounding the investment advisory firm of Lynch and Mayer, Inc., in N.Y.C., in 1976. For twenty years L & M ranked nationally in the top quintile of large-cap investment managers. Early retirement years were partly spent in Hanover, N.H., and Essex, CT.

Myrtle Acker, beloved grandmother, cousin, wife, mother and dear friend to so many, died at home with her granddaughter Sarah Goodhue, grandson Taylor Goodhue, and son Daniel Acker by her side on March 3, 2021. Predeceased by her husband Daniel Acker, her parents Fredrick Tumith and Anna Louise Tempe, and her 11 siblings. Survived by her sister Marilyn Krienitz, son Daniel Acker, daughter Debra Goodhue, grandson Daniel Acker Jr, granddaughter Sarah Goodhue, and grandson Taylor Goodhue.
