Maureen (Meaney) Ferejohn Connolly passed away peacefully on April 8, 2021, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Lincroft, New Jersey. Maureen was born on April 4, 1926, to Anna (Stewart) and Martin H. Meaney in Brooklyn, New York where she formed lifelong memories of the Brooklyn Dodgers. She lived many years in Elizabeth, New Jersey before moving to Garden City Long Island and finally settling in Middletown, New Jersey.
She was predeceased by her husbands, John William Ferejohn and Gerard Connolly; her brother Martin Meaney; sisters Anne Meaney and Grace Brophy; as well as her beloved grandson, Eric Dirmann.
Maureen is remembered for her generous spirit and willingness to help those in need. She learned to operate a hemodialysis machine when her first husband developed kidney failure just as she met all of life’s challenges with grace and courage, serving as an inspiration to her children and grandchildren to whom she was devoted.
