A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, April 25th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a service at 4:30 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank, NJ 07701. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Middletown VFW, 1 Veteran’s Lane, Port Monmouth 07758.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St James Church, 112 Broad St, Red Bank. At 11am, with Rite of Christian Burial to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers please make donations to causes that were dear to Patricia such as St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warriors, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 22, at the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. Interment to follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only family and close friends have been invited to attend the services. There will be a livestream of the mass at 10:30am at www.nativitychurchnj.org. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Upper Room Spiritual Center, 3455 W. Bangs Avenue, Building #2, Neptune, NJ 07753, The Upper Room is a spiritual and educational center rooted in a contemplative and holistic approach that supports and nourishes the spiritual growth of laity, religious, and clergy. Sponsored by the Diocese of Trenton, the Upper Room serves women and men within and outside the diocese through on-site and outreach programs. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Long Branch.

A private family service will be held followed by internment at the Hamilton Cemetery in Neptune. The family intends to hold a celebration of life when it is safe for family and friends to gather together.
Starting on Memorial Day, Dr. Blades’ beloved garden plot at the Fair Haven Community Garden will be maintained in his honor, marked by a mint and cream colored bird house to mark its location. Friends are invited to stop by and leave a note in his memory.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent or delivered to the Fair Haven Public Library, 748 River Road, Fair Haven, NJ 07704 for continuation of their community library initiatives.
