Obituaries

Patricia Elsas, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on August 5, 2019.  Patricia was born in Queens, NY to Paul and Florence Potters.  She resided in Rumson since 1988.

Patricia was a volunteer at the Ramapo Animal Shelter and was honored by the Little Silver Animal Hospital Foundation for Animals for her support of Canines for Warriors.  She was a member of the Rumson Country Club.

Patricia is predeceased by her parents and her husband Jason M. Elsas.  She is survived by her sons Scott and his wife Eileen of Rumson and Michael and his wife Jessica of Westport, CT; her daughters Kimberly Jaeger and her husband Ron of Rumson and Lindsay Del Campo of Westport, CT; her sister Joann Gow of Ocean Reef, FL; and her 11 grandchildren Kelly, Gregory, Reed, Jason, Michelle, Jack, Justin, Cole, Lexi, Payton and Colby.

Barbara Krouse Williamson, age 77, of Rumson, NJ passed away peacefully on August 1, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. 

A lifelong resident of Rumson, Barbara graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and Penn State University. She was a home economics high school teacher for twenty-five years for the Freehold Regional School District and travel agent extraordinaire.

An avid traveler, Barbara cherished her many vacations with loved ones. She explored the world and loved to share her knowledge of travel. She lived every day to the fullest and always found a way to have fun. 

Barbara was a member of The Rumson Presbyterian Church. She was a past president of the Northern Monmouth County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). She worked tirelessly for scholarships for women and developed many lifelong friendships. She was also an active member of the Monmouth County Retired Educators Association.  

Della E. Hall, age 61, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2019.  Della was born in Lancaster, PA.  She was a graduate of Red Bank Regional High School.  She worked at Monmouth Day Care Center and then Riverview Medical Center until her retirement.  She was also a member of the UMC of Red Bank.

She is predeceased by her father Theodore Gandy.  She is survived by her mother Joyce Fields of Middletown, her brother David and his wife Diane, her sisters Ginger and Joy and several nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by loved ones and close friends Sandy and Skinner.

David Weed Buckley, 88, Little Silver, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2019.

David was the beloved husband of Mary (Smith) Buckley.  He was born in Bryn Mawr, PA, to James Leo Buckley and Josephine (Weed) Buckley.  Raised in Scarsdale, NY, David attended Iona Prep High School. David went on to earn his B.A. and M.B.A. from Cornell University.  After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Tokyo for two years.  After the army, David pursued a career in marketing, working for Lever Brothers and Nielsen Media Research, both in New York City.

David and Mary were married for 61 years and moved to Rumson in 1960, where they lived for 30 years before moving to Little Silver. David was a dedicated member of both Holy Cross and Nativity parishes, served on the board of the Monmouth Day Care Center in Red Bank and was President of the Rumson School Board.

Paul R. Huneke, 72, of Lakewood, NJ, entered into eternal rest at Ocean County Medical Center on July 12, 2019.  Born in The Bronx, NY in 1946, he lived there until his family moved to Fair Lawn, NJ in 1950.  After high school, he earned his BA in education from Concordia College, Riverforest.  Upon completion of his degree he started teaching High School History in Houston, Texas.  It is there that he met his wife Kathy, whom he married in August of 1970.  During his first few years of marriage, Paul studied at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, where he earned his Masters of Divinity.  Paul was ordained as a Lutheran Pastor in August of 1976.  After his ordination Paul enjoyed doing what he loved best for the next 37 years.  Telling the story of Jesus and the good news of the gospel to the members of his congregation.  Paul retired from preaching in August of 2014 and moved to Lakewood, NJ.  In his retirement Paul continued to work part-time for the Church as a consultant for the New Jersey District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

Beloved husband and father, William Thomas Kaeli, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  

Bill grew up in Red Bank, NJ and attended Red Bank Catholic High School and Monmouth College (now Monmouth University). During those years, he was a star baseball and basketball player and was cheered on by the person who was and will forever be his best friend - his wife Emily (Peggy) Curley. After eight years of dating, Bill and Peggy married in the summer of 1966. They built their life together in the Shrewsbury area which included four children and six grandchildren and his forty-year career on Wall Street.

Bill had a wicked sense of humor and a style all his own. Whether he was mowing the lawn, playing sports with his children or attending a cocktail party, Bill was always in khakis, a button down shirt, and loafers with no socks. Bill loved a good joke and busting chops. He was the maestro of one-liners. If you were on the receiving end, you knew he liked you. With the arrival of grandchildren, Bill embraced his role as “Poppy” and enjoyed teaching them the value of a good sense of humor. 

Robert (Bob) Klingerman passed away July 4, 2019 of natural causes at the age of 86.  He was born in Hazelton, PA and resided in River Plaza (Middletown), NJ since 1962. Bob graduated from Girard College, Philadelphia, PA in 1950 and served for ten years in the US Air Force during the Korean War.  He retired from the US Postal Service, working as a Postal Supervisor in Red Bank.  After retirement, he worked at the Monmouth County Courthouse in the records department.

Sixty-three years ago he married the love of his life, Mary Reimiller Klingerman, and together they raised three daughters: Kim Ryan (Henry) of Las Vegas, NV; Carole Weston (George) of Fair Haven, NJ; and Jennifer Herrada (Carlos) of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ.  Bob was predeceased by his parents, Samuel Klingerman and Ethel Applegate Klingerman, sisters June Hoephner and Doris Yourishin Iero, and brother Samuel Klingerman.  Bob is also survived by seven grandchildren: Amanda, Thomas, David, Kathryn, Amy, Robert, and Isabella, and three great-grandchildren.

On Sunday, June 9, 2019, Michael E Mascone, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at age 51.

Michael was born to John V and Mary T (Ryan) Mascone in Tarrytown, NY.  He graduated high school from Christian Brother Academy in 1986, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St Joseph’s University in 1990.  Michael was National Execution Manager for Nestle Water, N.A. having worked for Nestle for nearly 20 years.  On Sept 20, 1997, he married Victoria (Tory) Donnelly, with whom he has 2 daughters, Elizabeth (Bess) and Caroline.

Michael was a selfless man who possessed an unwavering sense of optimism that defined all aspects of his life.  A four-year letterman for St Joseph University’s varsity men’s soccer team, Mike was a leading figure in youth soccer for Middletown and Central New Jersey.  He had a deep love and passion for youth soccer and for helping kids develop their skills on the field as players and off the field to become better people.  He was a coach and executive board member for the Middletown soccer club; most importantly he was Bess’ and Caroline’s biggest supporter on the sidelines.  A tireless advocate for children, Michael was also a former member of the Middletown, NJ Board of Education. 

Margaret Elisabeth Hennin of Old Bridge, New Jersey left this Earth on June 4th, 2019. For over 20 years she battled fiercely with illness yet demonstrated a strength and tenacity few could muster. She was a highly passionate woman and was extremely devoted and loyal to family and friends alike. Her “live and let live” attitude made anyone she came in contact with feel instantly at ease and as if they were connecting with a friend they had known for many years.

Margaret was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School in 1976 and later lived in Queens before finally settling in Old Bridge, New Jersey. She was employed as an administrative assistant at Neuberger Berman in Manhattan, at Marketware International in Red Bank, NJ, and at Allister Business Solutions in Freehold, NJ, before devoting herself full time to family life.
